Making a Database - 9 - Reports

Earlier you performed a Query to discover the students who walk to school.

The quality of printout would not be acceptable to send out to a client.  Access has Reports which allow you to take information from queries and improve the quality of the presentation.

1. Click Reports, Create report by using a wizard. Choose the query qryWalksortyeargroup.

2. Click on the double arrow and select all the fields:

3. Click Next, Next. Then choose Ascending by yeargroup.  Click Finish.

4. Call the new report rptWalksortyeargroup.

5. The report wizard never does a good job with layout.  Right click on the report and choose Design View.

6. Change the title; adjust the widths of the columns; adjust the layout... Click File, Save when finished.

6.  Click Reports and then double click the actual report to run a report at any time.
