Using Queries to search for required information

We will create a query to discover the students who walk to school:

1. Click Queries, New, Design View:

2.  Click Add

3. Scroll down to choose the field Traveltoschool and drag it onto the first field column.

4.  You need to add the criteria 'Walk' to school, so type walk into the criteria box. It will automatically have speech marks round it.

5.  You also need other fields to show in the results.  Drag down ID into the second column, then Year Group and Gender.

6.  Test your query by clicking the red exclamation mark:

7. You should end up with all the walk records showing:

Note there was a total of 41 students who walk.

8. Click File -> Save, and name it as qryWalktoschool.

9. You can run the query anytime by double clicking on it in the query view.
