HITEK Computer Services - Relationships

You should set up the relationships as shown below

• click on TOOLS, RELATIONSHIPS
• ADD all 3 tables
• click on CustomerID in Customers and drag to CustomerID in Computers
• Join SerialNo SerialNo
• Save the Relationships

Question?

Why is the first relationship a 1 to oo (1 to many)?  Why is the second relationship a 1 to 1?

Answer

• There is only 1 customer entry per customer BUT each customer can own many PCs
• Each serial number is UNIQUE to each computer and to each warranty.  No computer can share a SerialNo with another computer.

If you go onto your Customers table you should now be able to see both computers bought by PLM maintenance and view the warranty information for each.  This is made possible by the relationships.
