‘Raging Waters’ today, although more like dull queuing. Sooo sunny though - but factor 30 and 50 got us through. Ben especially did some amazing rides.
Yosemite tomorrow. Glad I rang to check bookings yesterday or we would have arrived a day early.
A couple of days spent meeting more friends. Ben and Matthew have had 5 days straight of swimming, and as you can see, they quite like it! Thanks to Carol, Ned and Rusty for this. Also to Sue and Joe for a really enjoyable evening. Seems appropriate that Ben and Matthew spent time playing on iPhones when Apple’s headquarters is just down the road.
Next stop Yosemite!
BIg Basin Redwood Park today, followed by an invite from Rusty and Ned Britt. Redwoods and Sequoias are HUGE… very peaceful in the forest though especially when you got away from the visitor’s centre. Looking forward to Yosemite now.
Easier day today (Day 4) sorting out food and other necessaries. Lovely finish with the Friedmans, fabulous food and the boys enjoyed a swim in the pool - a BIG thank you to Howard, Sue, Ariella and Parents-in-Law from both sides for a truly memorable evening.
More sorting things out on Day 5, followed by swimming at a local outdoor pool and own bbq in the evening.
Did the 49 mile San Francisco Drive (Day 3) - and various photos to prove it. Thanks to Peter and Bridget for recommending Fisherman’s Wharf where we enjoyed our first clam chowder. Finished the day by watching the latest Harry Potter film and eating out in San Francisco before a late night tripl back to San Jose..

Decided to see San Jose today and not to go out too much in the sun… (yup - the sun shines over here!) - so off to the tech museum. Sooo many interactive displays - several happy hours for the boys including an Imax film on the Grand Canyon. Half the water in the Colarado has gone missing in the last 8 years - it doesn’t even reach the sea now.
11 hours on the plane, but worth it as the sky was clear for much of the journey over Greenland and Northern America. I don’t understand why most people had the blinds down and watched films when there were fabulous views to be had outside.
Arrived safely at San Francisco airport. Made it to bed at 4.00am our time - a 24 hr day with 4 hrs sleep previously.
